It should come as no surprise that I love coffee. If this is news to you, you probably just stumbled across my blog for the first time… and if that’s the case, hi and thanks for visiting!
Going to new coffee spots is an oasis for me. I love trying new places and treating myself to a great cup of coffee. So when I got to spend over 2 weeks in New Jersey this month, I made sure to hit up my favorite coffee shops as well as visit a few new ones. Today I want to share my top 5 spots along the Jersey Shore.
Jessie’s recently opened within the last few months. This was my first time visiting but I ended up going multiple times during my visit. Not only is this such a cute spot, but it holds a special place in my heart because this use to be a small local market and when I was around 5 or 6 my Dad worked here and I use to come “help” him by bagging groceries… and then picking out candy as my payment.
It has been completely renovated into a coffee and ice cream shop with a minimalistic vibe. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. I got to try the latest trend of oat milk lattes while here and it did not disappoint. While I didn’t try any of the ice cream during my visits, I definitely need to make my way back there when I’m in town to try one of their delicious looking ice cream sandwiches.
Recommendation: Oat Milk Latte
Jar’d is located in The Exchange, which is a trendy stand alone food court. I love spots like this because if you are going with a group of people, there is always something for everyone. It’s a great spot to grab coffee to go but there are also plenty of tables and couches to sit and enjoy your coffee and food there as well.
They don’t serve my usual go-to of almond milk lattes, instead they have a macadamia milk option that I found to be just as tasty! For a little something sweet to go with my coffee, I like to pair it with their mini Monkey Bread. And be sure to grab a fortune from the jar on the counter while you’re there.
Recommendation: Macadamia Milk Latte + Monkey Bread
Another first time coffee shop for me on this visit was No. 7311. It actually opened a few years ago but I just recently stumbled upon it. The decor is absolutely adorable! Not only do they have great coffee and tea, but they specialize in small batch baking as well. Their selection of baked goods was vast and even had vegan and gluten free options.
Despite visiting this shore tourist town coffee shop in the middle of summer, it had a very laid back vibe. It’s definitely the type of shop you’d could spend a couple hours hanging out at with friends or even by yourself with a good book.
Recommendation: Iced Latte or Irish Breakfast Tea + any of their baked goods
Drip N Scoop not only has one of the best flat whites in the area, but they have a huge selection of donuts made in house. They always have new, unique donut flavors which makes it hard to pick just one. I usually visit this spot with my mom when I’m out there and we pick a couple donuts to split so we can sample more than one!
This is a great family friendly spot. There are plenty of places to sit both inside and outside and, in the summer, they often have an outdoor set up selling cold brew on tap for a quick fix on the go.
Recommendation: Flat White + any of their donuts
The OC Coffee Company is a staple for me but my go to order there is actually the vanilla chai and not coffee or espresso. It’s one of my all time favorite places to get a vanilla chai from, so I get as much of it as I can while I am out on the east coast.
They roast all their own coffee so you can buy a bag of beans to enjoy at home as well. My family regularly gets their coffee, so I also get a fix of their coffee when staying at my parent’s house.
Recommendation: Vanilla Chai
It’s exciting to see new spots pop up every time I go to the Jersey Shore. Plus I love supporting these small mom and pop coffee spots! I’m curious which one of these spots would be a must visit for you? Let me know in the comments below.
